Purpose
To provide a networking opportunity for women in business where individual and organisational skills can be shared and thereby create opportunities for professional and personal development across a range of sectors in the West Lancashire area.
To provide an environment where women can:
- share best practice, knowledge and expertise
- introduce contacts and make new leads
- develop relationships with businesses in their supply chain
- participate in a forum where advice, training and coaching is accessible
- engage in events throughout the year with guest speakers that provide inspiration and motivation to women
Membership
An annual membership fee (amount to be agreed) will be payable, which will contribute to the cost of running seminars, meetings, dinners etc.
WEB’s approach to membership aims to widen participation and encourage cross sector partnership working, which we believe will offer greater benefits to all members. This approach will offer the opportunity for members to interact and engage with women from all backgrounds, for example, women who
- run their own business(entrepreneurs)
- head up private companies
- have responsibility for enterprise in their specific field e.g. education, financial and professional, public sector (local & regional government) and the voluntary sector
- are involved in community and social enterprise
- offer business related services and activities.
The list is not exhaustive as WEB aims to encourage diversity through its membership and present opportunities that may not have otherwise arisen.
Membership is offered initially to women from all sectors across the West Lancashire area however enquiries from other parts of the North West are welcomed as there is potential in the future to work collaboratively with other existing women’s networks. Members from outside of West Lancashire will be subject to an increased membership fee as they are not eligible to benefit from the funding already in place to run activities for women in West Lancashire.
