The event held at the Investment Centre on Tuesday 14th July to help local businesses through the credit crunch has been hailed a complete success!
West Lancashire Borough Council, Lancashire County Council and Business Link North West joined forces with over 15 partners including; ACAS, Edgehill University, Jobcentre Plus, Business Venture Group and Chamber of Commerce North & Western Lancashire to provide West Lancashire businesses with practical help and advice that will support them through the current economic downturn.
There was also Icebraking sessions on grant funding, loans and training to give an overview of what is avaibable in the area. Business surgeries were also run through the day, which were held on a one to one basis with an adviser on specific topics as well as the Business Pitch sessions where you where people could discuss their ‘new business ideas’ with the specialist panel. In addition there was informative workshops on markting and finance. Carl Hopkins, star of Secret Millionaire, was there to provide businesses with invaluable and individual marketing advice to ensure their business has everything in place to survive the recession. The Finance workshop showed businesses how to manage their finances to reduce the stress during the credit crunch.
73 people attended the event and a spokesperson from LCDL commented, "We have now run 3 'Find Your Way' events across the County and there is a widespred view that the West Lancashire event was the most effective. A number of factors contributed to this, including the excellent venue and catering." |
